This week, a Five Cities Fire Authority station will be shutting down for about 50 hours because of staffing shortages.

Department officials say Five Cities Station 3 in Oceano will be browned out Thursday at 7 a.m. and then open up on Saturday just before 3 p.m.

In the meantime, those in Oceano will be covered by FCFA stations in Arroyo Grande and Grover Beach.

The FCFA serves approximately 40,000 people in a 10 square-mile area.
