The city of San Luis Obispo announced they’ve completed upgrades to the lights at the 919 Palm Street parking structure.
According to the press release, the city replaced more than 110 light fixtures with LED light fixtures.
“Projects such as the lighting upgrade project at the 919 Palm Street parking structure is a shining example of the City’s dedication and commitment to sustainability,” Sustainability Manager Chris Read said in the press release. “We are constantly examining ways to reduce our carbon footprint and to use energy more wisely across all City facilities and buildings.”
Pacific Gas & Electric Company helped sponsor the program with a zero-percent interest loan, which the city said will be paid back through energy savings.
The city said in the release that this will save more than $27,000 dollars annually in energy costs.
