Paso People's Action hosted a voter registration rally on Sept. 18 at Sherwood Park.
One of the founding members of the group, Elena Garcia, said the goal of the event was to focus on getting people out to register to vote and talk about the upcoming election.
According to their Instagram, the group hosted community speakers, free raffle prizes, along with handing out election information.
"Voting is critical to getting our voices heard and making change,” Garcia said. “It's not just about the presidential election, but it's also about our local elections, as well as school board, city council."
The group also held a moment of silence after the passing of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
