The Paso Robles Friday Night Live chapter, a health and wellness club, is putting on a “Kindness Search” for the remainder of the month of February, which happens to be Random Acts of Kindness Month, to help spread positivity.

The search starts with a poster on a tree by the pavilion in the Paso Robles Downtown City Park. Club members put posters with a clue for the search, along with kindness, selfcare, and mental health tips, in the windows of some Paso Robles businesses.

Sabrina Degnan, a behavioral health specialist with the County of San Luis Obispo and the coordinator of Friday Night Live, says the search is intended to promote positive mental health.

“This is a very difficult time mentally for a lot of people. Kindness spreads also to selfcare and being kind to ourselves,” said Degnan. “Not only does this message promote to the community to be kind to your neighbor in empathy, but also to be empathetic to yourself and to promote kindness and take a step back and do some things for your own mental health.”

Anyone can participate in the search. Just take a photo of each stop and tag or message the PRHSFNL Instagram page for a chance to win a Cold Stone gift card. Degnan says this is a safe way to get people out to support local business as well.
