The cause of the crash is under investigation, though officials say alcohol or drugs do not appear to be factors.
A pedestrian in Santa Barbara was struck and killed late Monday night on Highway 101.

After the accident was first reported at about 11:59 p.m., Santa Barbara Police closed down the southbound lanes of Hwy 101 from Las Positas Rd. to Castillo St.

As of 2:26 a.m., all but one lane of the highway had reopened. The continuing closure was due to ongoing construction.
