Locals laced up their walking and running shoes to raise awareness around substance abuse for the the second annual Walk for Recovery.
The walk took place Saturday at Laguna Lake.
The event which is sponsored by many local non-profits and organizations aims to bring awareness to those who may be suffering from alcohol and drug abuse.
"Drug and alcohol addition has a stigma to it and we want to make sure to bring awareness to it and let people know that actually affects everybody one way or another and we want to make sure that we are here to support each other," said Christina Lykens, director of strategic and network development for the Haven.
The funds generated from the walk will go to the San Luis Obispo County Recovery Support Network to help with the costs of those who are in treatment or want to seek treatment.
