PG&E announced that a seven-month project on a section of Bradley Road in Santa Maria will begin this week.

The utility company is converting overhead lines to underground on a 1.5-mile stretch of the road between Crestmont Drive and Amethyst Drive.

PG&E stated customers in the area will not lose power during the construction but there will be occasional traffic lane closures.

Contractors are set to start work Thursday at the intersection of Bradley Road and Foster Road. Heavy construction will begin later this month.

The project aims to beautify the residential area and PG&E will remove overhead utility poles in the area starting in May 2021.
