UCSB police are investigating reports of a rape that occurred over the weekend at a fraternity in Isla Vista.

Police say they were notified of the incident on Sunday, a day after the reported rape inside a bedroom at Sigma Pi fraternity on the 700 block of Embarcadero Del Mar.

The alleged rapist, estimated to be around 22-years-old, is not known to the victim, according to police, who say the person who filed the complaint did so anonymously.

Anyone with information related to this investigation is asked to call UCSB police at (805) 893-3446. Anonymous tips can be reported here.

The incident comes just days after the Isla Vista Community Services District (IVCSD) announced the opening of a resource center for survivors of sexual assault, following several recent incidents at a couple of UCSB fraternities.

Two of the sexual assaults reportedly also involved Sigma Pi. Another involving date rape drugs was reported at an unidentified fraternity, according to IVCSD.

KSBY has reached out to UCSB for comment but has not yet heard back.
