Southern California Edison and PG&E said it has plans to shut down power during critical fire weather to reduce the risk of a fire.

Several power shut-offs have already been scheduled for Northern California as some regions experience extreme heat and high winds.

A Public Safety Power Shutoff could lead to multi-day power outages in some areas.

To help people prepare for a possible shutoff, the City of Santa Barbara is encouraging residents to livestream its meeting on Oct. 14.
