A prescribed burn is planned for November 11-12 near Los Alamos.
The burn will include approximately 406 acres of sage scrub and oak woodland at BarM Ranch, also known as Barham Ranch, about four miles southeast of Los Alamos.
The goal of the burn is to reduce old growth fuels and help prevent the spread of wildfire.
If weather and air quality conditions are not favorable for smoke dispersal, the burn will be rescheduled.
