The Santa Maria Fire Department, along with Santa Barbara County Department, will conduct a prescribed burn at the Santa Maria Airport.
The one-day burn with take place on Thursday, September 26 from 9 a.m. through 6 p.m.
This prescribed burn will mitigate hazards associated with pyrotechnics at the Central Coast Airfest.
The burn will be conducted when the weather conditions are highly favorable to direct smoke away from population centers.
