You might see smoke in Cambria, Los Osos and Morro bay over the next week or so.
Firefighters will be burning more than 100 brush piles part of fuel reduction and forest management projects.
The burning starts Friday as early as 7 am and will go as late as 5 pm. It'll continue through Friday, Jan. 24.
Burning is planned in the following locations:
- Morro Bay State Park near the Marina Peninsula and along the Wildland Urban Interface between Ridgeway and Balboa Streets
- Montana de Oro State Park near Camp KEEP and the environmental camp facilities
- the pine forest east of Highway 1 and south of San Simeon Creek Campground
CA State Parks, the Morro Bay Fire Department, and CAL FIRE are the agencies taking part in the prescribed burns.
