Nearly 50 protesters gathered outside of the San Luis Obispo courthouse Friday afternoon to protest the continued closure of businesses.

The goal of the "freedom rally" was to urge San Luis Obispo County leaders to allow all businesses to reopen safely.

People at the rally said they do not want to be forced to wear masks or social distance from others. They want to feel free from restrictions.

"There's just a lot of misinformation and it's creating a lot of fear and people are putting themselves in a position of where they're unhappy, they're depressed, they're struggling and it's just not good for anybody," said freedom rally organizer, Jennifer Grinager.

Many protesters held American flags and expressed their support for President Donald Trump.
