Low to moderate income households in Santa Maria that have experienced a decrease in income as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic may qualify for emergency rental assistance.

The program is funded with special Community Development Block Grant funding (CDBG-CV).
It will offer up to three months of rental assistance (or up to $5,000 maximum) to qualified households. Funding is limited and applications will be processed on a first come, first serve basis.

Click here to access the online application. The deadline to apply online is 5:00 p.m. on Friday, September 4th, 2020. Once logged into the application, it can be converted into Spanish and several other languages.

The County of Santa Barbara is offering a similar program, which covers the unincorporated areas of the county as well as the cities of Carpinteria, Buellton, Solvang, Guadalupe, and Goleta. Residents who live in those areas can apply using the same website linked above.

The City of Santa Barbara also has a similar program and that application can be found here.

Questions may be directed to the Special Projects Division of the Community Development Department at (805) 925-0951 extension 2118.
