Rancho Bowl reopened Tuesday, despite not being allowed to open under current state COVID-19 guidelines.

Rancho Bowl Manager, Wade Stever, said the bowling alley would not have been able to reopen if they waited any longer.

Stever said they feel they will be able to take better precautions than any grocery store.

The bowling alley has a fog cleaner to help sanitize things while they are open.

"I suppose we could be fined, there's no way to know until it happens, but the other alternative is that we lose this business," said Stever. "Anybody that grew up in Santa Maria knows Rancho Bowl has been here for 61 years, we've been a part of your birthday parties, your date nights, bowling leagues, the night you just went out to go get a beer after work grab something to eat at lunch we've been here for you."

Rancho Bowl is now open Sunday and Tuesday through Thursday from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 4 p.m. to midnight.
