RE/MAX Parkside Real Estate hosted their annual “Up with the Kids!” event Saturday for low income children.
The event, which took place at Target in Paso Robles, gave 130 kids the opportunity to receive $125 worth of clothing needs and shoes. Backpacks filled with school supplies were also provided.
Multiple sponsors combined to give coupons for haircuts, complimentary hot air balloon rides, breakfast, and a bag of basic food staples for parents. Participants also had a chance to meet Paso Robles firefighters and climbing aboard a fire engine.
Over 180 volunteers showed up bright and early at around 5:15 a.m. to help set up. The event ended before Target opened their doors for daily business hours which start at 8 a.m.
Local schools and service organizations send out applications annually for local families hoping to participate in this event for children ranging from ages 5-12. The applications are then evaluated by RE/MAX in order to help sponsors choose those who they believe are most in need.
