The noontime Santa Maria Rotary Club held a virtual fundraiser in the first week of November that raised nearly $50,000 for five different charitable organizations.
"We formed four teams and the teams each selected a charity of their choice,” said Virginia Souza, president elect of the Rotary Club Santa Maria.
Echo Group Band of Brothers is one of the organizations who received a check for $10,297.
The funds will help with expanding La Casa De Flores housing for veterans and the van they use to reach veterans in need.
They’ll also put some money towards fitness programs.
The Santa Barbara Family YMCA and Casa of Hope women’s safe house are also receiving donations from the rotary club.
