The Santa Maria Fairpark is raising money to save the fair with a rummage sale.
Organizers of the rummage sale say the fairgrounds is struggling after postponements and cancellations of the Santa Barbara County Fair and the Santa Maria Valley Strawberry Festival.
Community members came out to the fairgrounds' auction barn Saturday to support local vendors and the Santa Maria Fairpark Foundation.
Interim CEO of the fairpark, Autumn Acquistapace, says attendees wore masks and followed social distancing guidelines and organizers limited the number of people inside the auction barn at the same time.
"It's been a rough year, today's been our first day that we actually were able to come and have people for this rummage sale," said Acquistapace.
Acquistapace says she's thankful for the community's support of the fairgrounds.
