San Luis Obispo County has a new visitation system for inmates. Visitors can now go online and talk to inmates via video.

The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office went live with the inmate visitation program on Oct. 7. It is provided through a partnership with NCIC Inmate Communications and Homewav.

Through the system, inmates and their visitors will pay 19 cents per minute for phone calls and 20 cents per minute for video visits. There is no connection fee for either service. (This story has been edited to reflect a change made by the sheriff's office regarding a charge for the connection fee.)
