San Luis Obispo’s first cannabis delivery service opens up

San Luis Obispo’s first licensed recreational and medical cannabis delivery service had its ribbon cutting Friday.

Papa Bear Fine Cannabis is completely owned and operated by a San Luis Obispo family.

Co-owner Shay Zepeda said deciding to go into the marijuana industry is something the family really discussed.

“We definitely really had to come together as a family, you know with retirement funds, all of our savings, everything we literally had we put it all out on the table,” Zepeda said.

As far as getting the business up and running, he said it was a long process and ultimately it came down to a little bit of luck.

“It is a lotto, it really is a lotto and we buckled down, we put in our lotto ticket and got the winning number,” he said.

When the time came to officially start the business, Zepeda said his father was key because he had been in the cannabis business for a long time. He said that helped them decide the style of business they wanted to run.

"We wanted to give good quality customer service, we wanted to have fast service and so we sent forth a creative business plan that was going to help everybody here,” Zepeda said.

As far as what products they offer, they carry everything from recreational THC, to medical CBD, edibles and even bath bombs. Zepeda said everything is lab tested, guaranteed safe and has no pesticides or chemicals. He said they can also show customers the batch number samples and lab results.
