UPDATE: At-risk missing person with brain injury found safe in Santa Barbara

UPDATE (10:07 a.m.) - The Santa Barbara Police Department says Stephen Lotton was found safe Saturday night.

Officials say a citizen called police after sighting Lotton.

The police department says this is the eighth save in three years because of alert citizens engaging with police social media.

ORIGINAL STORY (12:03 a.m.) — Santa Barbara police need help from community members in looking for an at-risk missing person.

The Santa Barbara Police Department is looking for 53-year-old Stephen Lotton who was last seen around 6:30 p.m. Saturday in the vicinity of Anacapa and Cota St. on foot in an unknown direction.

Lotton is 6-foot, 200 lbs, wearing a red jacket and blue pants (as seen in the above picture).

According to officials, Lotton suffers from a brain injury and is unable to do anything for himself. Authorities said Lotton has been found in Montecito or on his way there when he went missing in the past.

He currently lives near the 300 block of De Paul.
