The Santa Barbara Police Department is swearing in four new officers Thursday.
Three are police academy graduates and one is a lateral officer, meaning the officer is coming from a different department. The ceremony will be Thursday at 2:00 p.m. on the steps of the Santa Barbara Police Department. Once sworn in, the new officers will complete an 18-week field training program before heading out on patrol.
