The Santa Maria City Council voted Tuesday night to ban flavored tobacco products within the city.
Critics of the ban say that vaping has helped people stop smoking cigarettes and police should just ban underage vaping instead.
The approval came just as Santa Barbara County saw an increase in teenagers using vape.
Parents say they think this new ordinance will help stop the epidemic. '
