A rugged accessory manufacturer in Santa Maria decided it could provide some help during the coronavirus outbreak.

Trevor Orrick of Mob Armor teamed up with Make-it Manufacturing of Paso Robles to create re-usable face shields.

The shields are made with FDA-approved plastic that can easily be sanitized.

Mob Armor has made about 3,000 of these face shields for health care workers from San Luis Obispo to Arizona.

"You'll see a lot of disposables that are out there, but, of course, we feel if there is a lack of shields out in the medical field, you want to be able to clean this," said Orrick.

Shields can also be purchased from mobarmor.com and donated to hospitals and first responders.
