Santa Maria library hosting free Chinese New Year celebration Wed.

The Santa Maria Public Library is inviting the public to its 2020 Chinese New Year celebration.

Library staff says its a chance to learn more about the Chinese holiday.

They'll also have dance lessons taught by instructor Shiu Ching McSparron.

The celebration starts at 4 p.m. Wednesday. This program is free for all ages.

The library's hours are 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays; 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Mondays through Thursdays; and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays.
