The Balance Treatment Center in Santa Maria is working to improve the lives and mental health of community members.
The center opened in September 2019 and has had a steady flow of people requiring their services.
The Balance Treatment Center is the fastest growing mental health treatment center for adolescence and adults on the Central Coast.
As the rise in stress and anxiety across the country has created the demand for such centers.
"We all want to believe we can handle things on our own. We don't want to bother people, especially are close ones or our family, so it's a natural response to want to minimize some of our distress and to want to cope with it alone just to recognize that that's a natural feeling and yet people don't recover alone. That's one of the most studied factors that recovery cannot happen in isolation it needs a team,” said Program Director Coraline Robinson.
The Balance Treatment Center works closely with school districts, the county and all major private insurance companies.
