Shaw's Steakhouse in Santa Maria opened Tuesday for the first time in nearly two years.
In January 2019, Shaw's Steakhouse and Sergio's Furniture were destroyed by fire.
Shaw’s Steakhouse has been upgraded but the style has stayed the same.
“I think it’s really good that the employees are going to be able to have their jobs back and hopefully this whole COVID thing ends soon so they can reopen,” said customer Liz Cruz from Lompoc.
"It’s wonderful, I mean we would have liked to be able to open under different circumstances, but we just couldn’t wait anymore,” said Traci Guggia, manager at Milt Guggia Enterprises Inc.
The steakhouse opened in 1953 and has since become an iconic restaurant.
It's located at 714 S. Broadway.
