The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office is warning people about another scam.
This time, people are reportedly targeting locals and claiming to be a sheriff’s office employee.
“We neither give advance warning of arrests nor do we solicit money for unpaid fines,” the sheriff’s office said in a Twitter post.
Authorities remind people to be cautious with the information they give it and say “when in doubt, reach out!”
