Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center hosted a therapy dog parade for their patients on Thursday.

Hospital staff say this is in an effort to ramp up their therapy program. "By having a loving, furry friend that comes in there, it just brings joy and good distraction," says organizer Arthur Dominguez.

A group of 10 therapy dogs and their handlers participated in the parade.

Patients from around the building were invited to watch.

Hospital staff say they want to make sure they have at least one therapy dog available everyday. This way they can help with emotional support, as well as other types of therapies.
