Rod and Hammer's SLO Stills held a soft opening of its distillery and craft tasting room Tuesday.
Guests who attend the grand opening this weekend will taste five handcrafted spirits, including its first spirit called the "Reserve Rye Whiskey."
The distillery will also offer bourbon, gin and vodka.
"I think this is an absolute great experience for the consumer to go from craft beer homemade to watching how it can go to fruition as a spirit," says co-owner Rodney Cegelski, "And most people just don't realize that you can create a spirit out of a beer but we are doing that with our beers and our wheat and our rye."
The grand opening takes place on Saturday, Nov. 2. from 2 to 7 p.m.
Rod and Hammer's SLO Stills is located at 855 Aerovista Ln, San Luis Obispo.
