The 40 Prado Warming Center in San Luis Obispo will be open Christmas Eve and Christmas Day due to rain.
Check-in for those seeking shelter will begin at 4:30 p.m. at 40 Prado Road.
Guests may arrive to the shelter at any time during the evening but may not return if they leave the shelter that night.
Pets are accepted and smoking is allowed in the designated smoking area.
Guests will be given a dry place to sleep and a warm meal.
The Warming Center closes at 8 a.m. but guests can access regular day services at the shelter beginning at 8:30 a.m.
The shelter needs donations of the following items:
- Trash bags
- Disposable dishware and utensils
- Coffee and tea
- Breakfast foods
- Instant noodles cups
- Backpacks
- Warm clothing (socks, gloves)
- Rain resistant gear (ponchos, umbrellas)
You can drop off donations directly to the Warming Center.
