SLO City Warming Center to open Sunday, Monday; donations needed
The SLO City Warming Center will be open this Sunday and Monday, February 2-3, because of cold weather.
The warming center is located at 40 Prado in San Luis Obispo.
Those is need of shelter can check in starting at 4:30 p.m. Pets are allowed.
Guests will receive a hot meal.
The warming center closes each morning at 8 a.m.; however, regular Day Center services begin at 8:30.
Officials at the warming center are requesting the following donations:
- Sleeping bags and blankets
- Large trash bags
- Disposable plates, bowls, cups, and utensils
- Coffee, tea, creamer, sugar
- Breakfast bars
- Instant Noodle/Cup of Noodles
- Large backpacks
- New socks and warm gloves
- Rain gear/ponchos/umbrellas
Donations can be dropped off at the warming center.
