UPDATE: 3 people stranded in car off Soda Lake Rd, found and taken to hotel

UPDATE (1:04 p.m.) - The SLO County Sheriff's Office says the three people inside the car were found by deputies as well as Fish & Wildlife. We are told deputies took them to the Motel 6 in Atascadero.

UPDATE (10:52 p.m.): The SLO County Sheriff's Office has located the vehicle and is attempting to make contact.

UPDATE (9:20 p.m.): Deputies say the people in the vehicle are not in danger and are not believed to be injured.

The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office and the California Highway Patrol are still attempting to locate the vehicle at this time.

Deputies say because cell reception is limited in that area, it has been difficult trying to communicate with those in the car.

ORIGINAL STORY: The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office is investigating reports of three people who are possibly stranded in a car off of Soda Lake Rd, near Highway 58.

Deputies say they are en route to the area to look for the vehicle.

One person said they have been stuck in the car since Friday, January 17th without food or water, according to officials.
