Solvang city officials hosted the 2020 State of the City on Friday.
The event consisted of two open sessions. The first was a free-to-attend morning meeting. The other was a ticketed luncheon with a question and answer session.
This year, the State of the City focused on the "Spirit of Solvang, History and Vision."
City, county and industry professionals were there to discuss the city's accomplishments and goals moving forward.
One initiative the city wants to focus on is the branding for tourism.
"We want to create experiences and sell the Santa Ynez Valley," said Mayor Ryan Toussaint. "We want to encourage people to come stay here in Solvang. We have the most amount of hotel rooms."
