Students in Guadalupe helped put up flags at the Guadalupe Cemetery on Friday ahead of a Veterans Day ceremony next week.
The Guadalupe Lions Club and approximately 20 members of their Leos Club, all students at Kermit McKenzie Junior High School, participated in the event.
"We're remembering what the veterans did for us all those years ago and by putting up the flags, we say thank you to them," said 8th grader Quetzalli Alvarez.
"We take in memory what they did and it's a big thing what they did and I just feel good coming out here and helping put up the flags," said 8th grader Yareli Palacios.
A Veterans Day ceremony will be held at the cemetery on Monday, November 11 at 10 a.m. with lunch at the American Legion Hall at noon.
