On Friday, March 6, Santa Barbara County Sheriff deputies responded to calls of a fight on the 6600 Block of Del Playa Drive in Isla Vista.

While responding, deputies heard a single gunshot; they learned that a male suspect had been involved in an argument and pulled a gun, firing a single shot. Nobody was injured and the evidence demonstrates that the round hit. a walkway.

On Monday, deputies booked Christopher Tyrese Maxwell, 20, of Lompoc, who matched the description of the male spotted that night. He was detained on the 6700 Block of Sabado Tarde; in his backpack was a revolver with one spent round and the serial number filed off.

Maxwell was booked for assault with a firearm, shooting at an inhabited dwelling, possession of a firearm with the serial number filed off and carrying a loaded firearm in public -- all felonies.

His bail is set at $250,000
