Okay, succulent lovers, get out your wallets!
Cal Poly is hosting its popular student-run Succulentopia Plant Sale this weekend and there will be more than 7,000 plants available for purchase.
The sale takes place from noon to 6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 25, and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26, at the Horticulture Unit near the Poly Plant Shop. It's located in Bldg. 48 on Via Carta Rd.
More than 150 varieties of succulents - including Crassula, Echeveria, Sedum, Sedeveria, Aloe, Gasteria, Haworthia, Kalanchoe, Graptopetalum, Graptoveria, Senecio, Agave, Peperomia, Aeoniums, Callisia, Cyanotis, Adromischus, Sempervivum, and Orostachys - will be available.
Plants will range in price from $4.50 to $7 for four-inch plants. Most larger plants are priced below $12. Six-inch succulent gardens will be available for $12.50 and eight-inch gardens will be $25.
The plant sale is run by five students in the College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences who spend months propagating the succulents and managing every aspect of the event.
