You can help those in need by purchasing a ticket for the upcoming Empty Bowls event hosted by the Foodbank of Santa Barbara County.
The program raises money by pairing locally crafted or handmade bowls with soups made from scratch by local chefs. The simplicity of the dishes served reflect as a reminder to help feed those who are hungry in the community.
The Foodbank of Santa Barbara County gives out around 10 million pounds of food throughout the year to 300 agencies in the area. Half of these donations are produce, as the Foodbank wants to teach families about the importance of nutrition.
Empty Bowls will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 23, at the Santa Maria Fairpark.
