Update: The California Highway Patrol is reporting Highway 46 is back open Monday morning following a fatal crash that happened around 8:30 p.m. Sunday. Although CHP has confirmed a fatality resulted from this crash, limited details are available at this time.

The California Highway Patrol is responding to a vehicle crash on Highway 46 near Shandon.
CHP said they are planning to shut down Highway 46 at Highway 41 and Highway 33 near the Cholame Y.

According to officials, at least two vehicles, a semi-truck and another car are involved.
