A vegetation fire of five to ten acres was reported by Santa Barbara County Fire Department late Sunday.
Officials say the flames located on the south side of Highway 166, five miles east of Tepusquet Road are spreading slowly.
As a precaution, the westbound entrance to Highway 166 is closed at the junction of Thompson Road in Nipomo and Bull Canyon Road in Santa Maria.
The cause of the fire is unknown, more information to come.
