The Land Conservancy of San Luis Obispo County is warning hikers after a video shows what looks like two rattlesnakes together near a Central Coast trail.

Officials with the conservancy say the video was captured by Elena and Tom Georgii on the Discovery trail in the Pismo Preserve.

Friends of Pismo Preserve pointed out these were two male snakes "doing their ritual combat dance to decide who will mate."

Experts say this video is a good reminder of the wildlife hazards, such as rattlesnakes, that are a natural part of the Central Coast trails.

Hikers are asked to be cautious and always stick to the trail, and do not wander. Hikers will also want to always keep their dogs on a leash.

By staying on the trail and keeping your dog on a leash this helps reduce any unwanted human-wildlife contact.
