On Saturday, the Oceano community held a candlelight vigil for Lawrence Bross, an Oceano resident who was killed in his own home last year.
The Oceano Beach Community Association organized the vigil honoring Bross, who was an Oceano Dunes activist and retired teacher.
Family members and close friends of Bross gathered near his former home in Oceano to remember his life and his work in the local community.
No arrests have been made in his case.
"We're here to remember him for one thing, to honor his loving and active presence in our community, and we're here to ask that investigations and research and efforts are made to find his murderer," said Lucia Casalinuovo, a friend of Bross.
San Luis Obispo County Crime Stoppers is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for Bross' death.
The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office says it is: "actively investigating the homicide of Larry Bross and remain committed to finding the person or persons responsible for his death. Since it is an ongoing and active investigation, we are unable to comment any further at this time."
