The nonprofit, Community Partners in Caring," is looking for volunteers to match with dependent older adults because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to a press release, some of the tasks include picking up groceries, delivering food, transporting seniors to medical appointments or even just calling a senior to help reduce feelings of loneliness.

"There's just a tremendous need right now and to know that our seniors are at home and in need there is a gap to fill," Chuen Ng from Community Partners in Caring said. "So if someone is in a position to help, please contact the office, again, we're flexible we'll work with time and schedule, but we really need the help."

The nonprofit needs 30 volunteers for Santa Maria and Orcutt. The press release says volunteers must be over the age of 20 and pass a background check.
