LOS ANGELES (AP) - There now are 20 California counties that have been given state permission to proceed more rapidly with reopening.

Siskiyou, along the Oregon border, is among the latest.

All are rural, in the northern half of the state and have low coronavirus infection rates.

Meantime, in Los Angeles, leaving home now requires bringing a face covering.

It's part of the price for reopening more businesses and activities in America's second-largest city.

Mayor Eric Garcetti says everyone must carry the coverings when they go outdoors and wear them when they are around people from outside their households.

San Francisco, which also has moved cautiously, plans to allow more business to reopen for curbside pickups on Monday.
