We're Open: Chop Restaurant Supply

Posted at 6:25 AM, Apr 17, 2020

Chop Restaurant Supply in San Luis Obispo is still open to furnish local eateries and home cooks with the necessary materials to keep up the cooking!

Owner Jacob May started the supply store from ground up three years ago. May said he noticed a need for this type of business in San Luis Obispo County.

May said buying a product from Chop differs from buying online or from a large company because customers get unique personal service.

"That's why I feel like we're a lot better than going online or going to some of the big box stores," May said. "We can physically just stand there with them and ask them what they would be using it for or what they need it for."

May said business has slowed significantly but he wants to stay open to help the restaurants that are staying open. He said the business is trying to take advantage of government loans to get them through the pandemic.

Chop Restaurant Supply is currently trying to stock gloves in the store for restaurant's to purchase but they are in short supply.

The store is open weekdays from 9 a.m. to p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It is closed on Sundays.
