UPDATE (Sunday 3:30 p.m.) Atascadero police officials were able to release more information regarding a wrong way driver in SLO county.
Police say they got multiple calls of a wrong way driver approaching Santa Barbara Rd. around 6:40 a.m. Saturday.
Multiple agencies say the driver got on the 101 somewhere in San Luis Obispo and started driving north on the southbound lanes.
Police say some initial reports placed the driver on the Cuesta Grade.
Officers were dispatched to the southbound lanes near the Highway 41 exit where the driver was pulled over.
According to the Atascadero Police Department, officers performed field sobriety tests and then arrested 25-year-old Joshua Wilson of Paso Robles.
Officers say they arrested Wilson for misdemeanor DUI with a blood alcohol content over 0.08% (Penal code 23152 a, b).
He was brought back to the Atascadero Police Station, was processed and then later released to a sober driver according to authorities.
Police tell us he was not booked in the San Luis Obispo County Jail, but is expected to appear in court.

Original Story (Saturday, Sept 8, 9 p.m.)-- California Highway Patrol says a man was arrested after driving the wrong way on Highway 101 near Atascadero Saturday morning.
CHP says Atascadero Police asked for assistance after there were reports of a driver going north on southbound lanes.
According to CHP, the driver came from State Route 58 and was driving in the #1 lane on Highway 101.
CHP says officers were positioned to stop southbound freeway traffic to avoid a head-on collision, but Atascadero police officers were able to intercept the driver near the Santa Barbara Rd exit.
According to CHP, Atascadero police pulled over the driver. Officials say the man got out of the car and reportedly told police he was under the influence.
It is unclear if there were any reported injuries.
