It was a day to celebrate skaters in San Luis Obispo Saturday afternoon at the fourth annual "Ramp and Roll".

The city of San Luis Obispo Parks and Recreation department partnered with the San Luis Obispo Skate Park to host a day of skating.

People came together to introduce young skaters to the skate park with music, games and giveaways.

"Ramp and Roll" was started after the skate park opened five years ago.

The skate park ambassador says the event grows every year.

"More people are coming out, the younger talent is getting better and getting older," said Kevin Rucks, SLO City Skate Park ambassador. "That's what putting a skate park does here."

Local businesses sponsor the event and participants can win prizes by doing tricks for the crowd.

"We have lots of talent that's getting better, more families, more families are moving in here. It's summer time, more people know about the park,” said Rucks. “Word gets out. People look forward to it so every year the crowds get a little bigger and bigger."
