Salinas Valley State Prison inmate who escaped custody found in San Francisco

An inmate who reportedly walked away from the minimum-support facility at Salinas Valley State Prison on Saturday has been found.

According to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, Adam L. Beck was apprehended Monday evening in an apartment complex in San Francisco and returned to the prison.

The 35-year-old was reported missing from the Soledad prison at about 5:17 a.m. on Saturday.

He's been in custody there for a year, sentenced to serve four years for evading or attempting to evade a peace officer while driving recklessly and for carrying a concealed dirk or dagger. He may also face charges related to his escape.
