A San Luis Obispo-based printing company recently hired back several employees to help retrofit thousands of defective N95 masks for a local hospital.

Poor Richard’s Press has been in business since 1947 mostly supporting small, local businesses.

Owner Todd Ventura says they’re working to retrofit 175,000 masks for Marian Regional Medical Center in Santa Maria by removing and replacing damaged elastic.

“We have great relationships with our local hospitals, so this has been a blessing. We've been able to bring people back on the force and do something good for the community, so it's been awesome,” Ventura told KSBY News.

Poor Richard’s Press is located at 2226 Beebee St. in San Luis Obispo and can also be reached by calling (805) 543-6844.
