KSBY’s Friday Night Highlights Week 1 Play of the Week goes to Nipomo’s Brayden Groshart’s throw to Jerico Becerra and St. Joseph’s Devin Guggia is named the Player of the Week.
During Nipomo’s game against Cabrillo on Friday, quarterback Brayden Groshart received a snap that was too high but managed to scramble back to recover it, then ran outside the pocket to make a pressured complete pass to Jerico Beccerra before getting knocked down. Groshart finished with 242 total yards, 197 passing and 45 rushing, for three touchdowns. The Titans defeated Cabrillo, 45-14 for its second consecutive victory.
St. Joseph junior running back Devin Guggia is named the FNH Week 1 Player of the Week. He recorded 33 carries for 168 yards and scored four touchdowns. The Knights defeated Pioneer Valley on Friday, 35-19.
